To build on the years of successful fair trade partnership by the CDCA with a Nicaraguan organic coffee cooperative, expanding to work with five cooperatives, using a new business model to directly import, roast, and distribute coffee within the U.S. 100% of the profits will be returned to the cooperatives for use in community projects that improve quality of life.
Agriculture is the
base of Nicaragua's economy, with the nation suffering from
climate change as the 4th most-affected country in the
world. Small family farmers need help to adjust to the
hotter, drier climate changes, and help in marketing strategies
to let them continue to provide for their families.
